About the role

In this job your role will be to manage all creative output across all of the biggest JD campaign calendar moments. During huge retail spikes like Christmas, Back to School and Summer (to name a few) you will be responsible for oversight of creative ideas and visual approach that will ensure JD continues to stand out and is top of mind with our core consumer. Your ideas will need to be truly global with a heavy dose of UK centric core thinking. You will also need to develop consistency in the JD look, feel and tone through the brand and product centric campaigns you and your team create.

What you will be responsible for

  • Work with your team to deliver world first campaign ideas through innovative thinking.
  • Oversight on ideation, involving elevated visual language and narrative with an ability to turn on creative thinking yourself if needed.
  • Being a creative pipeline into the team through inspiration gathering, mood boarding, and constantly having your finger on the global cultural pulse.
  • A sound understanding (and previous proof) of true omnichannel thinking across channels to ensure consistency across retail, out of home, social, paid media, .com, app and more.
  • A sound understanding of how to apply strategic insight and rationale to campaign ideas.
  • Being guardian of a clear framework for all JD related messaging and visual output.
  • Ability to work cross functionally and confidence in presentation to all stakeholders.
  • Must be comfortable at working at a fast pace and under pressure.

What we are looking for

  • Proven experience within a similar role or stepping from a Group Creative Director, Associate Creative Director type position.
  • Able to work quickly and effectively whilst maintaining a high level of craft and quality.
  • Organised and be able to manage own workflow and that of your direct team.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent (not essential subject to relevant experience).
  • Ability to clearly articulate ideas to line manager and other less creative team members.
  • Strong understanding of JD brand space, relevant industry landscape and interest in youth culture.
  • Great team player with an incredible eye for detail.
  • Ability to build team management and mentoring skills.
