Head of Control Systems Engineering - Europe

£100,000-£110,000 + 10% bonus

This is a great time to join a long-standing specialist in industrial automation solutions, within a newly defined & elevated position, where you will lead on the reshape & growth of the control systems department ahead of significant growth.

The company provide comprehensive services across the design, testing, integration and maintenance of solutions for client sites who are leading brands within FMCG, Logistics and Manufacturing.

With the project pipelines full for the next 3 years & pace of the work- your role as the Head of Control Systems will be key in defining and managing the strategy for the department and continual improvement of processes for design standards, technical requirements, and resource management.

As Head of Control Systems, you will partner with other departments to increase efficiency and quality of project delivery for Controls, Electrical and System Testing and Quality Assurance.

Required experience and qualifications:

Five years + of experience within industrial control systems environments and applications, such as FMCG, intralogistics, automated warehousing & distribution, or manufacturing.

  • Established experience of team/ people management + the management of department operations
  • Coaching, training and development of team performance and skills
  • A demonstrable track record of process improvement and change management - with stakeholder engagement and cross departmental collaboration
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, time management and problem-solving skills
  • Expertise in functionality across communication networks, PLC systems, electrical control panels.
  • Ideally you will be a subject matter expert in working with WCS and or WES systems.
  • Able to adopt a flexible schedule alongside domestic and international travel.
