We are excited to be working for a prestigious real estate agency who pride themselves on supporting homeowners, landowners, and landlords across Warwickshire, Northamptonshire, Leicestershire, and Greater London. Our client offers total property, land and estate services to residential, commercial and rural clients. Due to growth, they are now looking for a Head of Compulsory Purchase. Their team of dedicated Chartered Surveyors have many years of experience working in both the private and public sector.

The Role

Head of Compulsory Purchase Surveyor Responsibilities will involve, but not limited to:

  • Liaising with authority agents, project managers and engineers during construction on behalf of claimants
  • Advising on the compulsory purchase process, the ‘compensation code’ and suitable mitigation measures
  • Working with planning, valuation, development and business consulting to deliver integrated client advice
  • Assessing and agreeing compensation claims for landowners
  • Submitting statutory objections, applications to local planning authority’s and advance payment requests
  • Cooperating with other professional advisors (where applicable) to achieve the best outcome for the client
  • Developing further business through recommendations, word of mouth, networking and authority referrals Compulsory Purchase

The Person

You must be a Chartered Surveyor (MRICS), and previous experience in compulsory purchase & compensation is essential. RICS Registered Valuer status is preferred

You will have:

  • Strong attention to detail and interest in keeping up to date with relevant case law and legislative changes
  • Good communicator with the ability to adapt style appropriately, build rapport and undertake negotiations
  • Excellent report writing, organisational and presentation skills and confident taking part in large meetings
  • Problem-solving attitude, ability to think outside the box, enthusiastic and a genuine thirst for knowledge
