Our client, a quality supplier to a specialist market across Europe, has an excellent opportunity for a Head of Commercial, reporting to the Managing Director and taking full responsibility for the Commercial Team, within their longstanding family run operation. This well-established and highly respected company, with a reputation for quality, service and efficiency within their marketplace, is seeking a dynamic Head of Commercial to lead the development of new business, whilst working with a small commercial sales team (comprising of Account Managers, Marketing and Sales Support Staff) to build exciting programs with the company’s existing customer base. After many years of trading, the business has already established itself within its market and has built significant brand awareness within particular sectors. Building on that history, the Head of Commercial will be required to be a strong brand ambassador for the company, assisting in its growth to supply the highest quality of products to an expanding customer base. Head of Commercial Responsibilities-Developing, implementing and executing the Commercial sales and marketing strategy, identifying customers within the different sectors of the market
  • Developing new business and working with the sales team to increase sales from a current customer base
  • Undertaking competitor analysis and tracking market innovation
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, driving engagement across the extended business
  • Taking responsibility for the setting of pricing strategy/volumes/cost targets/launch timings etc for new products
  • Monitoring Profit and Loss - overseeing the Profit and Loss of new projects
  • Adhering to the Company’s Health & Safety Policy and promoting a safe working culture throughout the Commercial Team department and site
  • Understanding and complying with the Company’s Environmental Policy. Required Attributes, Knowledge & Skills
  • A proven track record in sales and experience of taking on a leading commercial role, within the food service industry
  • Experienced in dealing with wholesalers, caterers and food service organisations, with a strong understanding of UK market requirements
  • An entrepreneurial spirit, with ambition, energy, and passion
  • The ability to take accountability for the revenue and growth of the business within the UK market
  • The ability to be able to adapt approach within a changing sales climate
  • A team player with a strong ability to problem solve
  • Excellent organisational skills, with knowledge of IT systems including the Microsoft Office suite On Offer in Return
