We will, however need your base ’home’ location to be one of our SSE offices or depots around the UK and Ireland.Salary: £61,100 - £91,700 + car /car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options availableReporting to the SSE Enterprise Commercial Director, this role’s core objective is to build up and manage the commercial function for the new Interconnector business and to provide consistent and rigorous management of our commercial processes and contracts.You will be expected to ensure that every opportunity is supported and reviewed, all commercial value is maximised, and prepare all commercial numbers for the business case.The Head of Commercial will play a leadership role in delivering the Interconnector Business Plan and will be responsible for supporting the Interconnector Management team with general commercial support as well as being a focal point for contract support, analysis, financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting and reporting.The key responsibilities in this role will be;- Establishing and managing contracts and commercial arrangements. This role will work closely with the senior leads in both Energy Economics and EPM.
- To support the growth plans in Interconnectors, you will also work with stakeholders to develop opportunities, provide the commercial rigour and support, manage commercial risks and opportunities, and ultimately play a key role in helping Enterprise to build interconnectors projects whilst ensuring appropriate contractual terms and financial returns are secured.
- Developing/implementing real time in-life commercial management, and reducing risk while maximising profit wherever possible.
- Ideally, you’ll be qualified in a relevant field e.g. Economics, Procurement, Law, Finance, Quantity Surveying, etc. but appropriate experience in the interconnector sector is equally or even more important.
- Critical to the success of this role is a solution-based mindset aligned with strong commercial acumen, decision making based on risk assessment, and the ability to lead in complex environments.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder (internal and external) management skills, as well as experience in leading high performing teams with a focus on safety and people development.
- Experience to develop, review and understand models that are required as part of the financials for future schemes, obtaining data and assumptions from both internal and external sources.
- Experience working with third party / client facing documents is required. This could include the development of Joint Ventures, Partnerships, Joint Development Agreements, and more traditional NEC3/4 Services and Product Agreements.
