About You

As such a position as Head of Commercial Excellence for the UK has arisen for an entrepreneurial individual to partner with customer engagement leads and the senior leadership team to provide strategy and insights to drive commercial effectiveness in the territory.

Key Measures of Success
  • Assisting with the development and execution of commercial strategy and monitoring the tactical execution of all Omni channel and digital capabilities across the organisation
  • Achievement of agreed annual business objectives
  • Development and monitoring of launch excellence and associated KPI’s
  • Development and implementation of all relevant Training for Commercial team that addresses documented areas of improvement, with defined outcomes
  • Measure development of the improvement of the competency/capabilities of all relevant staff to agreed target levels
  • Fully utilize the VINICI system to maximize intelligence about the market and performance of the team
  • Responsibilities
  • Maximize the performance of the orchestrator model through appropriate training and development interventions to meet the commercial operational plan
  • Development of Annual Training and Development Plan that addresses competency development
  • Utilise Global programmes where appropriate to gain cost or programme synergies for all VPUK.
  • Manage appropriate resourcing for the department, including budget management, to meet the needs identified in the excellence plan
  • Ensure all training interventions are compliant in accordance with the ABPI Code of Practice and Code of Practice of Ireland.
  • Evaluate the success of training interventions, providing regular reports to Commercial Director and HR Director, training and development
  • Lead the development and implementation of the VIP
  • Consistently increase staff skills, knowledge and competencies over time to create the best in class workforce
  • Work collaboratively with the Commercial Directorate to create a continuous improvement culture and share best practice
  • Monitor and evaluate all commercial activities to demonstrate progress
Tasks
  • Responsible for ensuring that all key objectives have associated SMART KPI’s and simple easy to understand dashboards are in place to track and monitor progress
  • Responsible for leading the forecasting process, market research analysis, and CMU tenders.
  • Responsible for the development of the training plan and its implementation in conjunction with EMT
  • Ensure that any training programmes developed are approved through the company PROMOMATS system as per SOPs.
  • Work with line managers to identify training and development needs and provide solutions to line managers
  • Work within the commercial team to improve the development and execution of interventions relating to the roll-out of brand strategy and materials
  • Keep abreast of best practice and ensure that any projects are carried out to the highest professional and ethical standards.
  • Identify and aid the development of a training and development plan for each team in collaboration with each Line Manager.
  • Prepare and implement commercial operational excellence budgets to achieve objectives
  • Liaise with Global training/commercial transformation functions sharing best practice and the development of digital interventions to ensure operational excellence.
  • Provides input and feedback to marketing & medical departments regarding the development operational excellence and proves programmes, workshops, events etc.
  • Create innovative on-line projects to support commercial development
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements
  • 10 years Significant experience in pharmaceutical industry and leadership
  • Excellent presentation & facilitation skills
  • Experience of training role(s) in UK healthcare - field and office based
  • Proven track record of collaboration with cross functional working to contribute to outstanding commercial achievement
  • Significant experience of NHS funding and commissioning processes
  • Basic understanding of medical aspects of therapeutic area along with willingness to develop in-depth expertise
  • Professional level in English, both in oral and in written communications
  • Expert knowledge and experience of market analytical systems
  • Highly proficient user of MS Office Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrable experience in performance coaching and in field coaching
Preferred Requirements
  • Significant industry experience including in NHS Liaison roles
  • Experience within NHS
  • Experience in VPUK therapeutic areas (Renal, Cardio, Obs/Gyn/ Gastro)
  • Experience of working with commercial teams
  • Experience of leading projects & teams
  • Preferable experience in Pharmaceutical Marketing
  • Appropriate training qualifications such as NLP etc
  • MBTI practitioner
