Head of Clinical Education and Quality Improvement

Location:Nationwide with requirement to attend Handforth (Cheshire) office weekly.

As part of this strategy, we are strengthening our clinical and welfare expertise by seeking to appoint a high-calibre Chief Veterinary Officer (CVO) and two senior clinical roles; Head of Clinical Education & Quality Improvement and Head of Clinical Services.

About the role:

Reporting to the CVO, the Head of Clinical Education & QI role leads on pet health and welfare research across the business. Enabling in practice research and driving quality improvement with the aim of enhancing pet welfare and clinical development through evidence-based content. A key focus of this role will be to develop resources and measures of success, to facilitate the application of clinical excellence learnings and drive a culture of quality improvement recognised across our business and the wider industry. Leading on clinical and welfare education, this role will build and enable continued career education that includes our graduate programme.

Key accountabilities will include (but not limited to):

  • Working closely with the Head of Clinical Services and Head of Pets, to provide a clear clinical and welfare voice and resources to support the wider business
  • Developing an education programme that provides career long learning to help all veterinary colleagues, through evidence-based resources, practical learning and support.
  • Creating, understanding and utilising clinical business intelligence and data to provide strategic forecasting and respected research
  • Leading a continuous drive to improve standards through effective quality improvement and clinical governance framework and functions
  • Building team capability and expertise to embed clinical excellence
  • Influencing change across the profession, to improve the clinical colleague experience

About your experience:

With a proven track record in clinical leadership and education delivery, the ideal candidate will be MRCVS/RVN qualified, or possess significant experience and expertise in clinical education, governance and risk management. Your knowledge of audit and reflective practice (both application and delivery) alongside excellent attention to detail, will ensure you are set for success in this role.

This role will draw upon your strong communication skills, working with a variety of stakeholders across the business within a matrix structure. In addition, you will ideally be able to demonstrate excellent capabilities in planning and prioritising multiple projects and workstreams, with an ability to deliver a strategic agenda, whilst managing operational activity.
