Swim England are seeking to recruit a Head of Coaching. This role will provide leadership and influence throughout the coaching programme.

This role will be responsible for
  • Providing the business with expertise in coaching and coach development from grassroots to performance and have an excellent understanding of the impact of coaching on wider activity at all levels.
  • Strong practical understanding of coach education programmes and management / governance of coaches.
  • Experience in developing, leading and delivering coaching strategy at a senior level.
  • Expert knowledge of the sport / coaching sector
  • This is an exciting opportunity working within a busy Sport Development team reporting to the Sport Development Director.

The successful candidate must be able to
  • Lead and drive forward the implementation of the Coaching Plan and ensure that it is regularly refreshed and kept up-to-date.
  • Lead through influence and bring all stakeholders along the coaching journey in line with SE strategy
  • Engage and influence a range of teams across Swim England and the Institute of Swimming to ensure effective delivery of the Coaching Plan and coaching services.
  • Lead the further development of the Teaching and Coaching Register to ensure high standards of governance for coaching across the aquatic sports.
  • Lead the strategic planning of the coach education programme to meet the needs of the aquatic sports.
  • Lead relationships at a senior/director level with key partner organisations in the coaching sphere to include Sport England, UK Coaching and other National Governing Bodies.
  • Lead the development and delivery of Coaching Policy for Swim England.
