Excellent Head Chef
The Fox Inn is looking for a Head Chef to run the kitchen of this privately owned pub. Located in the beautiful village of Corfe Castle, popular with locals and busy in the tourist season, this position would be perfect for a Head Chef wanting to make a statement for themselves and have control of the menus to express their creativity. The Fox Inn has built a reputation for home cooked quality food and the successful candidate should have knowledge of fresh food cooked to order and made on the premises. They must have the ability to build rapports with local suppliers to enable best prices. Experience with Food Standards, Health and Safety and budgets are a must.
In your role you will create new menus for the kitchen and BBQ with fresh seasonal produce, be hands on to ensure smooth running, work closely with a small team of staff and the owners, monitor and order stock when necessary, and ensure food safety standards are adhered to.
The Role
- Maintaining accurate and up to date Health and Safety/ Food Hygiene records
- Reporting to the owners; you will be assisted by junior chefs
- Working in the kitchen using fresh and seasonal ingredients - this is a hands on role
- Planning and preparing menus for lunch and dinner service
- Kitchen Management duties, including ordering ingredients for the menu
The Person
You will be required to meet the following criteria;
- Experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous chef
- Proven experience of leading a team
- Ability to run a hygienic and clean kitchen
- Experience working in a busy, fast paced kitchen and the ability to problem solve
- The ability to monitor stock and equipment levels and place orders to cover shortages.
