Senior Guidewire Developer - (Part-Time, Job-Share and Full-Time)

Location: UK Homebased/Hybrid working

The opportunity: 

Insurance Solutions within Business Technology Solutions seeks an experienced Solution Architect for a Guidewire based pricing platform to join our dynamic team. We are seeking an experienced solution architect to support our Group.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing technical solutions to meet the needs of our business. You will collaborate with our internal team of Project Managers, Business Analysts, Developers and Testers as well as business architects and senior business stakeholders to design, build and implement new products on a Guidewire technology-based platform and integrate with local applications.

Additionally, you will have the chance to work in an agile environment collaborating and communicating with peers and stakeholders at all levels of the organisation on a daily basis.

This role is available part-time, job-share or full time. This is because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren’t available full-time. Please talk to us at the interview about the flexibility you may need.

What will you be doing?

  • Work with the business units and development teams to transfer new and diverse product structures and business requirements into technical solution designs
  • Research and evaluate different technologies and solutions
  • Create detailed design documents for our Global Pricing Platform based on Guidewire PolicyCenter 10
  • Support implementation, testing and maintenance of the implemented solutions
  • Review existing Global Pricing Platform and define platform optimization(s)
  • Adhere to our technical strategy and architecture, aligned with Zurich standards and GPP’s architect
  • Update and maintain architectural and design documentation
  • Act as technical lead defining reusable components, frameworks, and development standards
  • Assess and monitor the interaction/interface/business processes between applications, databases, and middleware systems to identify and address problems/gaps in functional coverage
  • Ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable and meet performance expectations
  • Ensure data integrity is maintained and meets Zurich Information Governance standards

What are we looking for?

  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • GW PolicyCenter experience
  • Solution design and integrations experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Leadership – assertive, sharp with ability to inspire
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with stakeholders at all levels
  • Large scale system delivery experience preferably for Policy Administration Systems
  • Strong integration development experience
  • Experience with full SDLC and iterative (Agile) development lifecycle as used in GW implementations
  • Experience on large business integration effort through all phases of the project lifecycle from scoping and planning, requirements gathering, design, development, testing
  • Expert Level Guidewire/Java Developers with Guidewire Policy Center, preferably on version 10
  • Working experience in Agile and DevOps tools: JIRA, Git, Bamboo (SVN and Jenkins are assets)
