Bloc Hotels are looking to recruit a Group Senior HR Business Partner to work with the business in promoting, implementing and advising on key HR initiatives. The ideal candidate will have experience in all areas related to the human resources field as this will be a stand-alone, hands-on role within a fast paced organisation.

The purpose of the role is to provide flexi based (Hybrid/office) full-service HR support to circa 60 staff 18 hours a week, increase of hours if required. Including advice, guidance and instruction on recruitment; compensation and benefits; employee relations; diversity and inclusion; policies and procedures; coaching, mentoring and performance management; training and development; and employment law and guidelines.

The candidate will be expected to lead on onboarding new employees and collecting necessary background information as well as assisting employees while at work. The candidate will also be expected to work closely with the L&D Manager and with Management in order to provide training for employees and establish ways to increase employee engagement & retention

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain trusted relationships with the management & leadership team, using the ability to challenge & influence
  • Create a recruitment process designed to attract top talent, assist with interviewing and onboarding
  • Maintain an up-to-date bank of Job Descriptions for all roles within the business, amending and creating new ones where relevant
  • Overseeing the quarterly and annual performance and compensation reviews
  • Create and maintain an up-to-date salary banding structure ensuring Bloc Hotels remains competitive with the Remunerations and benefits offered to employees
  • Update the company organisation chart, including any vacancies
  • Create engaging initiatives to celebrate and bring the Bloc Values to life, embedding these across the business
  • Coach management on performance management, setting KPIs and supporting high-performance culture that’s aligned with the Bloc ethos
  • Administering all activities related to the employee lifecycle to include onboarding; promotions; pay reviews; statutory entitlements; benefits; talent development and off-boarding
  • Provide support, advice and guidance to the Management & Leadership team on all HR topics, including organisational design, learning & development, talent planning & management, employee engagement, recruitment & employer branding
  • Providing direction and guidance to all levels of leadership on employment law and legislation, HR policies and procedures ensuring consistency
  • Coaching and supporting managers with HR and managing issues
  • Developing and implementing HR policies aligned with best practice and communicating them to management and employees
  • Develop capability to ensure our people understand the HR model we work within and are able to efficiently access the solutions they need with ease
  • Research and analyse employee trends to understand ways to increase employee engagement and retention
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal standards and reduce risks related to daily management of employees
  • Demonstrating strong employee relations knowledge, you will steer the management team through any ambiguity and manage employee relations issues
  • Support Head of Departments with the onboarding of new employees and manage immigration documents, taxes and benefits packages
  • Manage the collation of payroll information and administration of benefits.
  • Occasional travel to Birmingham when required

Requirements

- Extensive senior HR experience with a proven track record of building good relationships and credibility with stakeholders at all levels

- CIPD qualified Level 5 or above

- Up to date knowledge of UK Employment Law with the ability to keep abreast of legislation and its impact on the business

- Demonstrates personal gravitas, tenacity and experience in successfully influencing senior stakeholders

- Experience of development and delivery of key HR objectives in a growing business

Recommended salary £60K pro-rata
