Our finance business is looking to recruit our next Group Financial Accountant to come and join our dedicated and welcoming team. We are looking for you to be comfortable with technical accounting to work on the delivery of Severn Trent’s group financial reporting and accounting service. You will be charged with helping the wider finance team ensure compliance with group accounting policies and all relevant accounting standards. The team are also responsible for the consolidation of the financial information for all entities within the Severn Trent group, including management and statutory accounts, budgets, plans and forecasts.

In this fast paced and highly rewarding role, you will be expected to work closely with our other specialist teams within the Finance Department including Tax, Group Treasury, FP&A and Investor Relations.

Working as a key member of the team you will ensure the delivery of Severn Trent Plc group’s financial statements and interim reporting, all compliant with IFRS. Along side this you will be delivering the year-end financial accounting process and play a key role in liaising with external auditors. You will oversee accounting for complex areas including in relation to financial instruments, pensions and share based payments.

Alongside the day to day, you will look to maintain regular communication with subsidiary finance teams to understand any business developments, alongside leading them through the related financial reporting implications. With this you will also guide these same teams through the implementation of any new accounting standards and associated business impacts being a subject matter expert for the business. As this ‘SME’ you will monitor our compliance with group accounting policies and provide guidance on complex or subjective matters.

We will be looking for you to have fully completed your financial accounting qualifications or in the process of being signed off this year. Also we’ll be looking for you to have experience of working on group consolidations and listed companies, either as part of that business or as an auditor.
