Collectively we operate from 11 sites in the UK and Europe, serve 16,000 customers a year with 4,500 products, employ 300 people and have an annual turnover of more than £300m.

The role

The Albex Group is seeking a Group Finance Director. Reporting into the Group Chairman, this individual will:

  • Ensure there are solid financial processes and controls at each group company
  • Manage a centralised team providing services to smaller companies in the group
  • Optimise financial process across the group and capture synergies where available
  • Identify financial risks across the group and mitigate these
  • Provide the company Managing Directors and the Board with insightful financial reporting and analysis
  • Lead the financial aspects of acquisitions by the group

The role is based in Paisley, Scotland with occasional visits to different sites and stakeholders across the UK and Europe.

Your profile

You’ll have a degree level accountancy qualification and be a Chartered Accountant. You’ll also be:

  • A strategic thinker with a methodical yet pragmatic approach
  • Commercially astute and understanding of the wider business context
  • Strong communication, stakeholder and change management skills
  • An advocate of technology and continuous improvement
  • Energetic, tenacious and focussed on outcomes
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment

The ideal candidate will also have experience in the food ingredients industry, acquisitions, multi-company environments, international markets and import/export.
