Salary: Up to £69,100 + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing, incl. annual incentive bonus of up to 10%

What is the Role?

This is an exciting opportunity to take responsibility for the development, improvement and delivery of the operating model that underpins the Group Data Management service provision. The focus of this role is on the delivery of market leading tooling and sector leading processes that will enable all SSE business functions to achieve excellence in Data Management at scale. This will result in the growth of accessible and trusted data sources that are critical for the successful delivery of our digital transformation goals.

In a Typical Working Day, You Will Be

This is a specialist centre of excellence role supporting an expanding base of Data Managers and Data Stewards across the entire SSE group (working in a federated or ‘hub and spoke’ model).

• Managing the delivery of centralised data catalogue tooling (Informatica products) and the associated operating models, processes, user guides and training.
• Promoting the wider adoption of best practice methodologies in data quality management and assisting in the identification and documentation of value drivers for investing in the improvement of data quality.
• Owning the relationship with partners who provide SSE with specialist software and services with regard to Data Management, including full responsibility for managing performance, budgets and rate cards.
• Managing and mentoring a growing internal team of Data Management analysts, supporting the ability to scale to meet demand.
  

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

• Expert knowledge of Data Management best practice, and the ability to influence key stakeholders to drive the adoption of best practice into our organisation.
• Strong written, verbal and presentation skills, and the ability to adapt to present ideas effectively at all levels of the organisation.
• A proactive and positive approach, with excellent organisational skills and the ability to successfully manage a high performing team.
  

Knowledge and previous experience in the deployment of Informatica Axon and EDC products or similar is highly desirable, but not essential if you are able to demonstrate the potential to quickly develop a good high level understanding.
