A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen with Sandown Motor Group for an exceptional Group Business Development Manager. The role can be based at either Guildford, Epsom, Basingstoke, Newbury or Poole.

Their simple goal is to deliver the most outstanding service from each of their sites in Guildford, Basingstoke, Poole, Dorchester, Salisbury, Newbury, Hindhead and Epsom.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing business by maximising sales and profit opportunities for Mercedes-Benz and smart with new corporate and business prospects. In addition, to pro-actively generate contacts in local businesses, carry out demonstrations and client appointments to achieve targets in accordance with the business plan and objectives. The successful candidate will be expected to deliver consistent results using the sales process and ensure the Corporate Department provides high quality customer service to new and existing customers.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist fleet/business customers with advice on purchasing vehicles through their company
  • Compile Contract Hire quotations for business users
  • Offering test drives for company car users
  • Look for opportunities to supply vehicles via the DSP channels
  • Work with MBUK field team on business opportunities
  • Informing and advising visitors on Mercedes-Benz vehicles, equipment, prices, conditions, technical data
  • Evaluating used cars and arranging for technical appraisals to be completed. Assessing the condition of Trade Ins and ensuring all defects /damage re reported and recorded prior to a Part Ex price being agreed.
  • Organising and carrying out test-drives and evaluate results
  • Concluding sales, negotiating terms (trade-ins, type and method of payment, method of vehicle transfer, etc.), if necessary, obtaining agreements and drawing up the sales contract.
  • Offering and selling service packages
  • Clarifying, agreeing, and organising handling of new and used vehicles
  • Prepare offers and follow-up with customers and prospects
  • Agreeing on processing and registration procedures with customer
  • Supervising conclusion of financing, leasing contracts, insurances, and service contracts

Agreeing with customers when the vehicle will be ready for handover (date, delivery, registration, etc.)


About You

You will have previous corporate sales/business development or fleet sales experience within the automotive industry, ideally Mercedes-Benz, however the business would also consider your application if you have had a successful career within a volume or prestige environment. You will have excellent time management skills and be able to develop relationships effortlessly.
