Grounds and Maintenance Manager

We are looking for a Grounds and Maintenance Manager to join our friendly team at our Wareham Forest Lodge Retreat in Surrey!

Along with Grounds and Maintenance Manager responsibilities, the successful candidate will also assist with Park Supervisor duties such as overseeing the small team at Wareham Forest.

This retreat is surrounded by lush and well maintained grounds it is the perfect relaxing location for holiday and short breaks. Set in beautiful grounds with its luxury holiday homes, we are looking for a Manager who can lead the team to maintain and excel in the running of the grounds and maintenance team to a five star standard that is expected by Darwin Escapes.

The ideal candidate needs to oversee the smooth operation of the grounds and maintenance department, maintain the five star standard and presentation of the retreat and ensuring the maintenance aspects and tended too.

The successful candidate will assist and manage the team with the upkeep of all company buildings and guest accommodation. This will involve responding to maintenance requests from guests on site, assisting with renovation projects and attending to any planned daily maintenance tasks.

Alongside this, the successful candidate will work to ensure the appearance of the resort is kept up to the five star standard expected. Duties will include grass cutting and strimming, edging and weeding borders and clearing pathways. Finally, the successful candidate will assist in the cleaning and maintenance of all hot tubs on changeover days and assist the team in the upkeep of all company buildings and guest accommodation.

This is a permanent position to work 40 hours over 5 days, on a 4 week rota. Flexibility will be required and this role will involved on call hours.

Key responsibilities -



Assist and manage the maintenance of guest accommodation and company buildings
Assit with the running of the retreat / Park Supervisor duties
Complete maintenance jobs as requested
Assist and manage completion of any renovation projects or redecoration
Complete any planned daily, weekly and monthly maintenance tasks
Work with the team to complete general grounds maintenance
Complete grass cutting, strimming and edging
Ensure the resort is kept clean and free of debris
Complete any necessary paperwork following repairs and maintenance

What experience you will need -



Previous maintenance experience is an desirable

What skills you will need -



Driving licence is essential, as you will be required to use the buggies or vehicles at the site
Excellent customer service skills
Strong communication skills
Positive attitude with a willingness to learn
