We are looking for a flexible team member to join and support our small family business established over 60 years ago. Shilstone Rocks offers horse riding over Dartmoor, livery and a self catering holiday cottage. The Stud breeds world re-known, top class Dartmoor ponies, and the farm keeps a herd of Red Devon and Dexter cattle.

The applicant will enjoy working with animals, members of the public, children and understand farming life.

Their role will include working as part of a small team and include yard duties, horse care, customer care, foal handling, and supporting family life generally, where required. They will be a competent and experienced horse rider, happy to learn new skills and occasionally work with other farm animals.

Depending on qualifications and experience, there would be an opportunity for the successful applicant to train (if not already) to lead rides on horseback, over Dartmoor.

Ideally, the applicant will have a level of experience commensurate with BHS stage II (complete) or above, have up to date first aid and the ability to back and school Dartmoor ponies. Experience in working with children with additional needs would be an advantage.

The applicant will be hard working, and be happy to work as part of the team or by themselves, taking on full responsibility occasionally.
