Axione (part of the Bouygues Group) is currently looking to recruit a Graduate Project Coordinatorto join our fibre network design & build project team based in Eurocentral, Scotland.


Axione is rapidly becoming a key contractor in the UK fibre telecommunications sector, focusing specifically on FTTP/FTTH network infrastructure installation and upgrade projects.

As a result, this role provides an excellent, long term opportunity for someone to begin the development of their engineering knowledge and skills, under the guidance of our highly experienced and skilled project management team.


About the job

The Graduate Project Coordinator will assist the Project Manager in the co-ordination and control of the onsite construction process, ensuring the site build progresses in line with the design and plan.

This role will contribute to the good communication between the project team and subcontractors.


Responsibilities

  • Subcontractor management to ensure projects are delivered on time and compliant
  • Identifies effective ways to solve problems, applying sound and realistic judgment. Makes appropriate and timely decisions.
  • Schedule preparation, pre-planning and resource forecasting for engineering and other technical activities relating to the project.
  • Investigation into defects & latent defects and provide engineered solutions where necessary
  • Provide information for Progress Reports
  • Ensure progress is measured and report to the Site or Project Manager regarding progress;
  • Manage & Assist the Site Control to prepare for each element of the works an inspection and test plan and ensure its requirements are achieved
  • Communicates information and ideas proactively and confidently. Shares knowledge with others
  • Ensure the Company Health and Safety safe working practices are observed at all times
  • To be able to properly communicate with members of the public and the local authority any matters that are related to the fibre roll out

Essential

  • A 2.i or above degree in relevant engineering discipline (Civil/Mechanical/Electrical/Building Services)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent self-organisation skills and ability to organise work for others
  • Priority management
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to drive program
  • High levels of quality standards
  • Attention to H&S matters
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at once
  • Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable

  • FTTP/FTTH infrastructure experience
  • Sub-contractor management skills
  • Relevant up-to-date certification in order to undertake this work. For example: First Aid, CSCS, NRSWA etc.
  • NEC experience
  • Good Public Relations skills
