Purpose of the Role

This is a fast paced role with changing demands and plenty of opportunity to get involved in one off projects and new challenges. You will be involved in a wide array of tasks and duties in order to give you the foundation required alongside the study support for a professional qualification needed to build a strong finance career.

Key Responsibilities

  • Posting of month end journals
  • Completion of balance sheet reconciliations
  • Month end variance analysis vs prior year and vs budget
  • Supporting the Financial Accountant when preparing month end and ad hoc reporting
  • Supporting business partners and attending meetings with wider business where required
  • Involved in budgeting process, assisting the Financial Accountant where required
  • Assisting with the audit process, providing support and liaising with auditors where required
  • Adhoc project work as and when the business need arises

About You

  • A 2:1 degree graduate or hold equivalent commercial experience ideally within an accounting or finance related subject
  • Passionate and committed
  • Keen to work in a growing, fast paced company
  • Proficient in Microsoft office, particularly Excel – including advanced formulas and functionality
  • Able to understand basic accounting principles (debits / credits / accruals / prepayments etc)
  • Keen to gain an accounting qualification
  • Confident in both written and verbal communication. Able to build relationships and utilise them both within the wider Finance team and across the business
  • Analytically minded, able to look into the detail but also think about the bigger picture
