Global Supply Chain Planning Lead, Antibiotics

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain exposure of working on self-contained, end to end supply chain processes, focusing on optimisation and continuous improvements.

You will be a part of an experienced team and working with numerous stakeholders. Antibiotics is a crucial area for GSK and with that comes large investment and opportunities for growth.

This role will ideally be based at GSK House or Poznan but candidates from other locations will also be considered on a case by case basis.

Job Purpose

Manage a team of Global SC Planners responsible for developing a balanced supply plan over the 0-36 month planning horizon across multiple resources and sites for PENs. The plan should deliver service targets and be optimized E2E for inventory.

The Global Supply Chain Planning Lead is an important entry level leadership role within GSK’s Supply Chain organization.

In this role you will…
  • Leadership and capability development of operational planning teams based at multiple global locations.
  • Creation of optimized production plans across the 6-week to 3-year horizon for a therapy sub-set network including both internal GSK global supply sites, and external contract manufacturing organizations.
  • Accountability for the execution of inventory and service policies across the therapy sub-set network, delivering best in class performance through the full end-to-end supply chain from manufacturing location to point of GSK external sale.
  • Management of the 3-36 months therapy sub-set sales and operation planning processes, collating information from the wider supply chains, developing optimized planning scenarios / solutions, owning decision making, and defining relevant escalations.
  • Review and analysis of supply chain key lead performance indicators to identify improvement opportunities and highlight risks to end-to-end performance, including planning parameter accuracy, demonstrated performance against plan, and potential service disruption.
  • Collate and run the SRM (Supply Review Meeting) for Sites under scope and escalation to SCRM (Supply Chain Review Meeting) in line with CCC (Core Commercial Cycle) process.
  • Lead delivery of lifecycle activities, including new product introduction, product sourcing, site transfers, pack changes, divestments, allocations / rationing, discontinuation and tender activities.
  • Ensure team capability growth in supply chain production planning discipline, including subject matter expertise in scenario planning, production efficiency tools (such as flexible repeating schedule design, economic order quantity calculation and optimized in-market inventory levels), data management and maintenance of production planning parameters – all within SAP [GSK’s global ERP system].
  • Continuous Improvement: drive standardization in WOW, identify best practice and drive Continuous Improvement across the Antibiotics Area. Look at opportunities to simplify and automate manual work.

Basic Qualifications

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
  • Demonstrated experience of supply planning in a pharmaceutical or FMCG environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of supply planning processes operating over 0-36 month horizon including rough cut capacity planning and inventory management.
  • Highly experienced in the use of SAP for supply planning including data set ups to drive planning outcomes.
  • Demonstrable experience working with external, third party suppliers
  • Advanced level Excel skills required
  • People management experience with demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams across different geographies.
  • Good problem-solving skills with the ability to pull together multiple data sources to reach decisions directly impacting supply to customers
  • Experience connecting and influence multiple stakeholders across various disciplines including finance, quality, technical, production & scheduling to drive performance.
  • Proactive approach with experience of contributing to continuous improvement programs & challenge the status quo to drive efficiency and supply chain performance in the areas of service and inventory.
Preferred Qualifications

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
  • Degree qualified in a Supply Chain or equivalent business or technical area
  • Additional relevant qualifications advantageous, such as APICS certification
  • Specific experience in the pharmaceutical industry a plus
  • Experience or training in continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma etc.)
  • French speaking
