Global Picture Editor - Contractor

The Role...

Soho House is recruiting a Contracted, Global Picture Editor to be based in our London Office. Supporting the editorial and communication teams in what is a vibrant, fast-paced environment, this is an exciting role specifically geared towards supporting our global content team promote our content to members. Also, to support the wider business on various other projects across all platforms from print to digital. You will be working with the content teams in the UK, Europe, Asia and North America, as well as the wider marketing team and various other departments located around the world. Main Duties...

• Managing internal archive of all Soho House imagery, including Soho House, Restaurants, Soho Works, Soho Home and Retail.
• Overseeing and sourcing all imagery on sohohouse.com, from homepages to House pages. Making sure all imagery is up to technical standard and visually to house style.
• Sourcing still imagery for content (editorial) content where necessary (internal or research).
• Generation of picture-led content.
• Assisting digital comms with imagery for email newsletters.
• Assisting social media team with imagery.
• Assisting video team with imagery.
• Advising Events teams on event promotion imagery.
• Working with partnerships team to source member benefit imagery.
• Managing contracts and rates with external image libraries.
• Assisting teams globally with internal imagery requests.
• Cropping and uploading imagery to CMS
• Laying out pages for editorial content

What We Are Looking For...

• At least 3 years experience on picture desks
• A demonstrable eye for a strong image.
• Proven experience of creative and editorial picture research.
• Knowledge of picture agencies and other sources of imagery.
• Understanding of copyright laws and image rights management is a must.
• Experience with content management systems and alternative image text.
• Experience of archiving imagery digitally is a must.
• Knowledge of developments in digital publishing and an interest in finding new ways to reach a target audience visually is strongly desirable.
• Demonstrable Photoshop skills such as basic retouching and re-sizing imagery for the web.
• The organizational ability to juggle a heavy and varied workload in a fast-paced environment.
• A personal interest and knowledge of Soho House, cultural trends, design, interiors, food and drink also desirable.
• Photographic skills with a camera are a plus, but not obligatory.
