The Global Pandemic Medical Director (GPMD) reports to the Head, Global Medical Strategy (GMS)

The GPMD will work with Commercial, Regulatory, Clinical, Policy and Corporate Affairs in the Life Cycle Management of the Seqirus Pandemic Influenza portfolio and play a critical role in establishing and maintaining our scientific messaging for influenza pandemic.

The Global Pandemic Medical Director (GPMD) is responsible for developing and executing strong strategic medical plans for pandemic influenza products, providing decision-makers around the world with the evidence and confidence they need to scientifically differentiate our vaccines, in alignment with seasonal portfolio.

Responsibilities include: -

• The GPMD will provide medical insight, scientific expertise and medical leadership to the Pandemic Enterprise team and participate in key strategic decisions that impact the life cycle planning of our pandemic products. The GPMD will be the Medical representative on pandemic GPLTs and CPTs.
• The GPMD will provide medical support to Regulatory and Clinical teams in regulatory submissions and clinical programs for pandemic products, including participating in regulatory authority and investigator meetings. The GPMD will be a key member of pandemic CPTs
• The GPMD will work with the Corporate Affairs on pandemic matters: the GPMD will be the lead medical professional in providing scientific and medical expertise to develop positioning, key messages and Q&A for major milestones and issues in global pandemic-related matters.
• The GPMD will support Regional Medical Affairs and Pandemic Enterprise colleagues leading discussions with government officials and policy makers in regard to our pandemic portfolio of products and provide coaching and training as required.
• The GPMD will work with the Regional Medical Affairs teams and Pandemic Response team on shaping tenders, tender shaping activities and provide scientific input into tender submissions as required
• The GPMD will interface with the scientific community either through direct/virtual interaction and establish relevant relationships with government officials and external experts as appropriate
  
  

Qualifications, skills and Experience: -

• A degree in medicine or biomedical or allied medical discipline, complemented with post-graduate qualification and experience in the pharmaceutical/ biotechnology industry field.
• Proven medical affairs or related industry expertise with extensive knowledge and experience of product development/life cycle management in relevant therapy area and experience in biologicals.
• Demonstrated ability to provide medical leadership and influence stakeholders
• Ability to establish credible relationships within Seqirus and externally, including external experts/ KOLS/ healthcare professionals, professional associations and other key stakeholders
• Demonstrated sound judgement and flexible approach to managing situations
• Effective delivery of objectives in a complex matrix environment
• Strong verbal & written communication skills in a cross functional environment
• Excellent presentation skills
