I am working with an SME consultancy who are looking for a Geotechnical Engineer to join their busy offices in Watford.

Are you seeking a role which allows you to further develop your technical skills alongside your business and commercial acumen? Do you have a desire to join a growing geotechnical consultancy at this exciting stage of growth within the business?

The successful applicant will be required to combine office and site-based work, be flexible in their approach to complete tasks in a timely manner and build good working relationships with others.

Skills And Experience Required
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years work experience for a ground investigation contractor or site bias consultant
  • Must have experience in organising and undertaking ground investigations
  • Must be able to log competently to the relevant British Standards
  • Must be able to undertake soakaway tests in trial pits and boreholes and other types of insitu site work
  • Must be knowledgeable in sampling protocol both from a geotechnical and geo-environmental standpoint
  • Must have experience in using appropriate software to produce borehole logs
  • Experience in preparing Phase 1 desk studies and Phase 2 reports
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (both verbal and written) as client relationships are key
  • Full, driving licence required

    Qualifications
    • BSc or BEng degree level qualified in Geology, Engineering Geology or Civil Engineering.
    • Preferably have a MSc in Soil Mechanics, Engineering Geology, Geotechnical Engineering or related subject preferable
    • Working towards chartered Geologist (CGeol) or Civil Engineering (CEng) status
