This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join our Geosciences department. This is a core operational position forming part of the Subsurface Team in Norwich. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining structured and accurate data sources within the department.

You will develop a close working relationship with multiple contacts within the NSTA (North Sea Transition Authority) and assist in fulfilling our regulatory commitments. You will have the opportunity to measurably improve Perenco’s performance in the reporting of well, production and records data against our industry benchmarks.

The successful candidate will be a good communicator, happy to build relationships and have the ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks. This is a full-time office-based role in Norwich working Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Update WONS (Well Operations Notification System) with any changes to our wells status.
  • Submit new and make changes to our Production Consents.
  • Upload data to the NDR (National Data Repository). Authorisations, loading and coding. Includes all documents though the wells life, physical and digital.
  • Liaise with third party holders of our data to ensure they successfully upload data as requested.
  • Annual UKSS (UK Stewardship Survey) submission. A lengthy process undertaken between mid-November and end February. Multiple sections for all of our fields within which you need to advise of our reserves, resources, activities etc and highlight changes since the previous survey.
  • Annual licence and levy fee monitoring and advice sent to accounts for pending invoices.
  • Licence relinquishment. The Geoscience Data Coordinator will be able to identify areas within our existing producing licence areas where any opportunity for relinquishment, or partial relinquishment may exist. Use of PEARS (Petroleum E-business Assignment and Relinquishment System) to raise events depending on the type of licence relinquishment.
  • ISP (Information and Samples Plan) will be prepared upon any licence relinquishment. This highlights all data/information we have available pertaining to the wells within the relinquished area.
  • Pressure database management. Once new records of static pressure data become available, they need recording against our cumulative production. This information can then be used to generate our p/z plots from which our reserves can be estimated.
  • Work closely with the Production Coordinators to make any changes necessary to production data held within portals like PDS (Production Data System), OpsRef, Well Stock Master.
  • Production data received from Hydrocarbon Accounting needs incorporating into our forecasting tools. Historical data is used to generated forecasts, therefore, the monthly update is imperative.
  • Maintain all databases pertaining to the department.
  • Ad hoc requests for data/data representation from various departments including Decom, Wells, QSSHE, Legal, Commercial and Operations.

Experience/Qualifications

  • Strong IT skills in packages such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Excellent attention to detail and an aptitude to problem solving.
  • Knowledge of gas production and processing, geoscience, reservoir and petroleum engineering and UKCS regulatory requirements are a distinct advantage, however, training will be provided.
