Cordant People are currently recruiting for General Operatives for a large, well established client of ours in Castleford on a temporary to permanent basis.

We are looking for candidates to to support and operate the plastic recycling production lines safely in accordance with procedures and workplace instructions, whilst maintaining high levels safety and quality.

Duties will include, but not limit to;

Ensure correct materials are being processed by following written job card instructions

Through cooperation and liaison with other team members

Sampling and testing of recycled polymers as per quality control procedures

Complete production records, as required by workplace instructions, for the production processes. This includes records for both machine operation and results of in-process quality control testing.

Fill batches of completed product into final sales packaging and weigh and record/label and transport finished goods to a designated storage location.

Maintain high levels of housekeeping and use the tools provided to keep a clean and ordered workplace.

Prepare shift handover documentation and fault identification job cards for communication of issues to oncoming shifts or for the maintenance engineering team.

Carry out some planned routine maintenance tasks on equipment in line with process training provided and once competency levels have been verified.

Wear prescribed PPE in the workplace at all times

Requirements

  • Must have experience with FLT (license can be out of date as they can do a refresher - but must have a license to begin with and we would need a copy of this)
  • IT Literate
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • A good level of written and verbal communication skills
  • Motivation, reliable and honest
Working Hours;
  • Continental Shift Pattern
  • (3 x 12 hour shifts, days and nights, various days each week)
Pay Rate;
  • £11.73 per hour
  • Overtime available at enhanced rates
