Exciting opportunity for a permanent General Manager to join an innovative, sustainable and eco-friendly packaging businessBased in South Leeds with free parking on site and excellent transport linksOTE £50 - 60k per annumAre you an experienced and dynamic leader with a passion for driving excellence in the manufacturing sector?As the General Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the manufacturing operations of the cold chain packaging company.Your primary goal will be to ensure the efficient production of high-quality products, while also fostering a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and employee engagement.Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, you will play a critical role in setting and executing the company’s strategic vision, leading the organization towards further success and expansion.You will also be working with their product research team to help develop new products that can be brought to market and play an active part in expanding the company in this growing sector.What we can offer youA friendly and efficient working environmentThe chance to be part of a sustainable business committed to creating earth friendly, recycled, biodegradable and aesthetically pleasing packaging productsA superb opportunity to make your mark within the businessSupport to succeed from the Group CEO and wider business group.20 holidays plus bank holidaysFree parking on siteWorkplace pensionMore about the role and what we need from youProvide strategic leadership and direction to all departments within the manufacturing facility.Develop and implement operational strategies to optimize productivity, quality, and cost-effectiveness.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive product development and improvement initiatives.Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies.Oversee the financial performance of the manufacturing unit, analyzing budgets and cost controls.Champion a culture of employee engagement, professional development, and teamwork.Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement lean manufacturing principles.Monitor market trends and competitor activities to stay ahead in a competitive landscape.Engage with key stakeholders, customers, and suppliers to maintain strong relationships.Drive environmental sustainability initiatives within the manufacturing processes.About YouThe successful candidate will ideally have:Proven track record of successfully managing teams in a manufacturing environment and delivering results.Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.Excellent financial acumen and experience managing budgets and P&Ls.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.Demonstrated ability to lead change and drive a culture of innovation.Experience in cold chain packaging is a significant advantage.Experience from a pharmaceutical background would be advantageous, but not essential.If you feel you are right for this role, please send your cv with a covering letter
