An established business with a busy and successful site in Penrith is looking to recruit a General Manager to lead the branch and machinery teams.

You must have agricultural experience and strong machinery technical knowledge is an advantage.

Day to day duties and responsibilities:

  • Lead machinery team; driving sales and profitability across sales, parts and workshop
  • Lead the retail branch team
  • Manage the resources of machinery and retail divisions
  • Ensure all branch colleagues delivery exceptionally high customer services
  • Support, develop, mentor and drive colleague performance within branch
  • Stock management
  • Adhere to HSE policies and procedures

Essential skills:

  • Proven track record in leading a multidisciplinary team
  • P&L experience
  • Ability to analyse data with good Excel skills
  • Some agricultural experience
  • Strong technical machinery knowledge
  • IOSH qualification
  • Experience of Microsoft D365 and IBCOS operating systems

Core Hours:

Monday to Friday – 8am to 5pm
Saturday – 8 am to noon - GM to work 1 in 4 Saturdays (half day)

· Annual salary reviews in September each year. £38k to £55k starting salary.

  • Customer service: 3 years (preferred)
  • Management: 5 years (preferred)
  • Agricultural: 2 years (required)

Licence/Certification:

  • Driving Licence (required)
