Rossall School is among the most successful and prestigious independent boarding and day schools in the North West with flourishing pupil numbers.

The successful candidate will be part of a small multi-skilled team, carrying out building maintenance and refurbishment tasks.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • To carry out tasks as directed by the Maintenance Manager and/or Estates Manager.
  • Undertaking various tasks relating to general maintenance using accepted trade practices.
  • Using appropriate mechanical plant and tools required for safe completion of tasks.
  • Providing necessary protection, such as dust sheets, whilst undertaking jobs and cleaning up at end of task and arranging for arisings to be collected as necessary.
  • Taking all steps necessary to ensure his / her own safety and the safety of others in carrying out work.
  • Promoting best practice in meeting the requirements of Health and Safety legislation and complying with other relevant statutory legislation.
  • Undertaking training to acquire and maintain skill levels in keeping with the requirements of the job.
  • To assist with other duties which may reasonably be requested by the Maintenance Manager and/or Estates Manager.

Qualifications/Education/Training (Essential/Desirable)

  • Relevant City & Guilds qualification or equivalent D
  • Sound health and safety knowledge, put into practice D

Experience

  • Experience and knowledge of general maintenance E

Skills and competencies

  • Good communication skills E
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret written instructions or drawings and complete necessary paperwork E
