General Foreman

Balfour Beatty Vinci has an exciting opportunity for a General Foreman to join our HS2 Precast Plant site in Avonmouth

Role Purpose:

To provide leadership and control of a team comprising, Section Foremen, Junior Foremen and Gangers

• Carry out Safety & Environment Tours as required by the Project H & S Plan
• Contributes to Accident / Incident Investigations. Directs the appropriate action arising (HFACS and Four Page Reports)
• Appraises improvement options and leads action / instigates as appropriate
• Keeps up to date with changes in legislation and cascades information to the foremen
• Be familiar with, and demonstrate commitment to the requirements of the Health & Safety and Environmental Policies
• Ensures that their staff receive or have access to copies of the Environmental Policy and are kept informed of environmental developments and issues

• Understands Protocol with regard to Accident and Incident investigation
• Experienced in leading Safety & Environment Tours
• Experienced in planning shifts in line with EU regs. and section 61
• Able to work on own initiative and seek out opportunities in line with level of responsibility.
• Holds a current driving license and CSCS Card.

Balfour Beatty VINCI (BBV) is responsible for designing and building part of the most exciting and challenging infrastructure project in Europe: HS2.

We are building the West Midlands section of HS2’s Phase One route, spanning approximately 90km from Long Itchington in Warwickshire to the centre of Birmingham and on to Handsacre in Staffordshire. We will be employing thousands of people from the region to design and build the civil infrastructure for HS2 and we are looking for a wide range of skills to join the team and support this unique and ground breaking project.
