General Catering Assistant – Campuses

Full Time: 39 hours per week working nights

Salary: £17.13 per hour, plus salary enhancements for weekend work

Location: Hinkley & Sedgemoor Campus

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

To provide a welcoming and friendly customer experience within the campus, delivering excellent customer and food service. To ensure the restaurant is clean/hygienic, restocked, and customers are advised of the products available (e.g. meals, snacks, restaurant open times and allergens etc.)

You will assist with front of house and back of house duties:

  • Greeting customers and serving customers with food and drink choices, resolving queries
  • To assist in a wide range of preparation, cooking and serving food
  • Support, operate and provide service in areas including but not limited to: the Serveries, the Deli/Retail, Hospitality orders, Function/Events, Coffee Shops, Bars.
  • Clean all equipment, crockery and cutlery as required
  • Take delivery of stock including food/provision, checking and accounting for items
  • Act as Banksman, and other such job specific operations as required

With an excellent eye for detail and high health and safety standards, you will ensure all food is handled in accordance with the standards set by our Food Safety & Quality management system. Alongside this, you will be responsible for delivering and maintaining excellent stock control skills and carry out and record any checks required on behalf of the Chef Manager or Catering Supervisor.

You will be a polite and enthusiastic individual, with high standards for customer service and a ’can do’ attitude. You will be working nights 9:30pm to 6am these hours may vary so a degree of flexibility is required.

We also love to invest in our staff, so you will receive training from the first week you start, including courses on Food Hygiene level 2, allergens training and fire safety. We’ll also look to develop you and encourage your growth through the business.

Successful applicants will be required to provide a three-year employment history and five-year address history in order to work on Hinkley Point C.
