An Exciting opportunity for a Gas Engineering Operative Apprentice awaits a positive and proactive team player to deliver gas and plumbing services to our residents. Housing Solutions has the perfect opportunity for you to start your career as a Gas Engineering Operative. This role will be a 2-year fixed term contract which includes completing a Level 3 Gas Engineering Operative Apprenticeship qualification.

Your key accountabilities will be:

• Carrying out jobs conforming to instructions and to a high standard; obtaining permission whenever any substantial variation from orders is required.
• Assist our gas installation operatives in delivering our planned programme of boiler replacements to a consistently high standard and maintaining our excellent customer service.
• Understand and maintain appropriate supplies and equipment for the job; including contracts with approved suppliers and the procurement process.
• To liaise with the company’s Works Planning and Customer Care Centre teams to keep them informed of progress through the schedule.

You will be:

• Able to demonstrate a strong understanding or experience of plumbing
• Able to undertake a structured training programme of study and on the job training; and completing an assessment through an approved Apprenticeship provider.
• Able to work with all colleagues across the organisations as well as our residents.
• You will have good communication skills and a positive attitude as well as being self-motivated and organised.

The successful applicant will require an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate which is considered satisfactory to Housing Solutions.
