GAP YEAR LEARNING COACH

Have you just completed Year 13 and unsure about starting University this autumn? Are you seeking an opportunity to gain some work experience and give something back to the community but at the same time earn some money?

Due to the previous success of our Gap Year Learning Coaches, Hugh Christie School are seeking a new team of Gap Year Learning Coaches to once again, work one to one or in small groups with some of our students whose education has been interrupted by the Covid-19 outbreak when they return in the autumn.

The minimum number of total hours a week would be 5 and the maximum up to 20. Learning Coaches would all receive appropriate training before being asked to take part in coaching with students.

We are interested in providing coaching over a range of different subjects, but are particularly keen to hear from you if you studied Maths, English or Science for your A Levels.

Hugh Christie School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share that commitment. The successful coaches will be required to undergo a number of pre-employment checks including a DBS check.

If you are interested in this opportunity, please complete the application form and return to us by the 5th July 2021 with interviews commencing on 19th July 2021.

Long Mead Community Primary School

Long Mead Primary School serves an estate in the north end of Tonbridge. The local ward it serves has relatively high levels of deprivation for the area. As a result, the school has higher than average number of disadvantaged children on its roll.

The school has a population of around 170 children, including a nursery. The school roll has fluctuated over time and this had made stability a challenge. One priority area is to increase numbers attending the school in the nursery and reception by broadening the appeal of the school to the local community.

Our School and all its personnel are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children. This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
