Summary
Job description
- To conduct and support money laundering and economic crime investigations in accordance with NCA policy and legislative requirements and maximise the effective use of the proceeds of crime act and other legislation.
- To contribute to the acquisition and development of tactical and strategic intelligence through targeted research, open source searches, behavioural, analytical, comparative studies and/or prevention initiatives focused on serious and organised crime affecting the UK, particularly money laundering and economic crime investigations.
- To sift and analyse large volumes of data, follow complex financial paper-trails, and seek and act upon opportunities to obtain evidential material.
- Take on specific roles within a larger case team, ensuring all legal and operational requirements are met on the way to preparing cases for submission to the CPS, or in the case of Unexplained Wealth Orders and Civil Recovery, to the NCA’s Legal Department.
- Build effective external partnerships, collaborate with other NCA units, wider UK law enforcement, international counterparts, and Government departments

- Awareness of police investigative roles, processes, terminology and procedures with particular emphasis towards major crime investigations.
- Ability of producing and communicating high quality, clearly structured, logical reports and presentations using verbal and written skills. Working with sensitive/confidential material, high workloads and working under pressure to strict deadlines.
- Experience in translating complex literature into actionable reports for practitioners. Identifying risks whilst suggesting control measures for partners.
- Significant experience in Court work and the assessment and treatment of offenders/patients in a high secure setting. Also experience as a Consultant in a Clinical Practice.
You will also have the below qualifications or skills:
Essential Qualifications
- Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration as Practitioner Psychologist in Clinical Psychology with substantial experience in forensic clinical settings.
- Psych.D or equivalent doctoral level qualification.
This role will be a mobile worker and when not deployed operationally you will work from home.
***All NCA officers must hold SC Enhanced upon entry as a minimum. To meet the National Security Vetting requirements for this role you will need to have resided in the UK for a minimum of 3 out of the past 5 years. For more information please see the Candidate information Pack***
Qualifications
- Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration as Practitioner Psychologist in Clinical Psychology with substantial experience in forensic clinical settings.
- Psych.D or equivalent doctoral level qualification.
