Brighter Futures is the charity for Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. With supporters help we fund that extra special level of care in order to make a real difference to patients, their families and staff who treat them, above what the NHS is able to provide. Brighter Futures helps improve the hospital environment, fund ground breaking research, support the development and training of hospital staff and provide state-of-the-art equipment.

The Charity is one of more than 280 NHS Charities in the UK, which between them hold assets of £2.2bn and raise over £330m per annum used to enhance and support patient care and provide grants for projects that are over and above those served through government funding.

The post of Fundraising Events and Community Manager is an important link between the Hospital’s Charity and its local community. The post holder will require knowledge of fundraising and considerable energy and enthusiasm that will inspire patients, visitors and local community to choose Brighter Futures as their preferred charity to support. Also working with local business, staff and volunteer networks, developing activities and events that are appropriate.

The purpose of this role is to ensure that fundraising ideas and events are in place that have high profile and will generate funds to agreed targets. The post holder must be inventive and highly organised, to initiate and then deliver highly successful events.
