The Hostess Restaurant Ltd

A busy family-run restaurant, with experience in catering for functions large or small.

KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILTIES:

Assisting the head chef with the preparation and serving of meals.

Cleaning work areas and equipment used

Monitoring and ordering stock as and when necessary.

OTHER DUTIES:

Keeping the highest standard of personal hygiene and presentation

Ensure company policies, standards and procedures are observed

Any other duties that are deemed appropriate to this post

You should be able to work as part of a team in a fast paced environment, whilst keeping a calm approach with effective decision making. You should be willing to undertake a wide variety of tasks with an ability to switch between hot and cold food preparation and serving, including the preparation of fresh sauces, entrees, desserts and fresh vegetables. We serve a wide variety of meals ranging from a mid-week carvery to weddings, private functions, buffets and lots in between. A genuine interest in providing good food to a high standard and a knowledge of current food service trends, current allergen and intolerance guidance and cost control procedures should be held. The successful candidate would be expected to cover staff holidays, including menu planning and stock ordering in the head chefs absence.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING

A good general education with qualifications in English and Mathematics to GCSE level or equivalent

Relevant vocational qualification or experience to a comparable level.

Although a qualification is preferable, if the candidate has the relevant experience a compromise may be made.

BECAUSE OF OUR LOCATION, YOUR OWN TRANSPORT IS ESSENTIAL combined with a valid U.K. driving license.

You must have eligibility to work in the U.K.
