About You

Are you an enthusiastic individual with around 4 years Front End Web Development experience who is keen to get stuck in and grow their responsibility within our knowledgeable and creative team, working for a scaleup company?

Do you have a varied background? Maybe you’ve worked for an agency and worked directly on a product previously?

Do you have a solid grasp of JavaScript, HTML and CSS?

The Role

As part of a scaleup company, your role will encompass the entire software development life-cycle, including requirements capture, prototyping, design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance.

The role includes development, support, maintenance and monitoring of the JavaScript web client. There will be plenty of opportunities to research and develop solutions using new technologies, languages and design patterns.

We want someone who won’t be afraid to rip our existing product to pieces, and suggest how we can make it better! You’ll be confident in your abilities to shape a platform with hundreds-of-thousands of users and will be self motivated.

You’ll become an integral member of the web team, which owns and shapes the webclient, ensuring it is on a level playing field with our mobile clients.

Day to day, you’ll be responsible for the hands-on development in HTML5/CSS/JS/Node.js and will work as part of a team, understanding requirements from different groups within the business including UX, Creative and Backend colleagues.

Requirements

• A mastery of JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS3 development, being able to write clean, robust, well-structured, object-oriented code.
• An expert in a modern JavaScript framework such as Angular, React, Vue. We use Polymer.
• Proficient with modern CSS such as Flexbox, CSSGrid and Cross browser compatibility.
• An ongoing interest in staying up-to-date with the evolution of the web platform (ES6+, Web Components, etc).
• Experienced in designing and developing for responsive / mobile platforms.

An understanding of REST based API design and development would be a bonus along with a familiarity with Agile / Scrum development practices.
