We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Lead UI Developerto join our Pershing team. Pershing provides a broad range of financial business solutions to investment banks, broker-dealers, wealth managers, financial planners, and advisers across EMEA. We provide sophisticated front-end technology and flexible middle office capabilities with execution, settlement, and custody services. These are supported by a robust regulatory and compliance framework with dedicated client asset experience and expertise.

Pershing EMEA is always working on many different projects, across different portfolios, that involve multiple different teams. As part of the Platform UI team, you will be responsible for delivering the core user interface, frameworks, developer tools and quality gates to enable functional teams to deliver application features. You must be able to identify and improve developer efficiencies through investigation, coding, and identification of third-party tooling. You will get to work in a fast paced, challenging and rewarding environment. This role is in Manchester and is Hybrid.

In the development department, you will have the chance to drive and shape the changes required to allow us to grow to our full potential, both from a technical and process perspective.

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Enjoy delivering highly complex, scalable and robust solutions.
  • Enjoy writing and helping others to write clean, efficient and quality code.
  • Contribute to technical and design workshops.
  • Adhere to best practices within the team such as TDD and Continuous Integration
  • Believe and be involved in the continuous improvement of the team.
  • Critically review code and ensure this skill is improved on across the team.
  • Research and consider how new technologies could be used at Pershing.
  • Work with the Development and Architecture teams to develop and establish best practices.
  • Considering performance, scalability and security when designing and implementing solutions
  • Contribute to the rollout of new tools and applications that improve the development process.

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

  • Expert in Web technologies – JavaScript, Typescript, HTML, CSS
  • JavaScript Frameworks (preferably Angular)
  • Experience creating reusable components and frameworks.
  • Experience creating RESTful services & API’s.
  • Experience with developer tooling and improving developer efficiency.
  • Programming principals and design patterns
  • TDD, Continuous Integration and Automation
  • Git/Version control
  • UX Knowledge
  • Knowledge of component testing
  • Experience and knowledge in Agile delivery (ideally experience in SCRUM)
  • Experience in delivering high volume and highly available enterprise applications.
  • Experience and good knowledge in TDD, Continuous Integration and Automation
  • Be able to critically analyse code/designs and provide constructive feedback.
