Birstall

Due to career moves, we have an exciting new opportunity for a Technical Leader to provide first line response to technical issues in our Petcare factory in Birstall, near to Leeds.

The role will play a key role as the technical resource in the team and first port of call for all setting and breakdown issues. The role will be key in driving setting accuracy and changeover standards and will assist in changeovers across a number of areas. They will also develop operators in these skills, working with SOPs and delivering coaching and training on the job to upskill the teams. The job holder will work closely with area leaders, shift technicians and team leaders / shift managers as well as build good relationships with external support teams.

What are we looking for?
  • Proven technical competence equivalent to at least NVQ level 3 in mechanical or electrical engineering
  • Understanding of LVE, Motor control, PLC software, Process control philosophies, level 2 systems & networks.
  • Fault finding skills and a logical and methodical approach
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, easily approachable
What will be your key responsibilities?
  • Diagnosis and repair of breakdowns within their skill set, escalation as required to SRST/days teams
  • Planning, execution and supervision of planned maintenance outages
  • Driving Autonomous work through creation/close out of abnormalities and adherence to CIL documents
  • Assisting the SRSTs in training and upskilling the shift teams in mechanical skills, fault finding and setting
  • To assist with line changeovers and machine set up, ensuring teams are skilled to deliver changeovers with speed and accuracy to the required targets.
