Hypermotive are a dynamic, rapidly growing engineering business who have made a name for themselves in the electrification sector. Hypermotive’s highly experienced, friendly, enthusiastic team-work under three business divisions: EV Systems, Fuel Cell Systems and Wiring Systems including automotive tier 1 manufacturing. You will work on highly varied projects across all aspects of electrical and low carbon vehicles and supporting systems knowing that your input will directly contribute not only to the successful delivery of the project but also support the success and growth of the business. Part of the Hypermotive Engineering team, the Software and Controls Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, delivery and testing of model-based controls systems and software within eMobility solutions for both vehicle systems and test rig hardware. Within this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of the software design across the entire Engineering V cycle. This will include: Supporting generation and management of requirements from both the external and internal customers Adherence to relevant design standards and Engineering design process Generation of model based code, using Matlab/Simulink tools Code unit testing and debugging Systems commissioning and calibration You will work closely with the other functions within the Engineering team to ensure right first time, on-time delivery of the project within budget. You will support design review, team, supplier and customer meetings as required and seek to resolve any issue assigned to you in a timely manner. Alongside this, you will support the development and roll out of Hypermotive’s quality processes and supporting tools associated with your work and build Hypermotive’s internal software and controls capability to support business growth. Education and Skills Requirements Educated to degree level in Software Engineering or other relevant discipline 3 years’ experience in relevant role and industry Skills & Experience Required: Experience in designing automotive / motorsport / transport software and controls systems Highly experienced in Matlab, Simulink and Stateflow toolchains Experience of C / C++ Experience of interfacing embedded control with real-world hardware such as sensors and actuators using a variety of protocols including I2C, SPI and CAN Experience of automotive/motorsport rapid-prototyping and production target hardware Knowledge of and experience of working to automotive engineering standards and processes Appreciation of ISO26262 Skills preferred: Working knowledge of automotive and motorsport standards and processes for software such as AutoSAR, MISRA Experience of automotive series production software development Experience of C# / .net Personal attributes: Flexible attitude Good written and verbal communications skills Team player Self-motivated Proactive approach to work Able to multi-task across several projects at one time Hypermotive can offer: Interesting, varied and challenging work Wide range of projects across multiple sectors Good rates of pay and generous holidays Highly flexible working arrangements Pension scheme and other benefits
