About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Service Technician to join the UK Depot team in Worthing. The Service Technician is responsible for the throughput of customer and company devices in the Workshop, working within the decontamination area following company procedures and ensuring all customer and company equipment is correctly decontaminated and booked in.

As a Service Technician you will provide support to allow the smooth running of the day-to-day aspects of the Depot, meeting the department’s goals and targets.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Equipment Decontamination in line with company process and procedures.
  • Booking in of customer and company equipment.
  • Inspection and quotation of devices. Raising additional quotations and providing details of faults and required repairs to customers.
  • Produce detailed and accurate quotations using Microsoft Dynamic Navision and other business systems.
  • Loan Equipment management.
  • Setup and Macro/Data set upload to new customer devices.
  • Carry out detailed and effective stock inventory checks and monitoring of parts used and reordering when stock is low.
  • To work in conjunction with the Workshop Team Leader through the appraisal process setting goals and targets to provide effective self-development.
  • To provide constructive feedback within the department to help with the development of service centre procedures and work instructions.
  • Carry out project work to enable both the service centre business and personal development.
  • Support revenue growth, cost savings and continuous improvement.

Primary Responsibilities

This provides a general focus for the requirements of the role but is not exhaustive.

  • To work in conjunction with the Workshop Team Leader delivering goals and targets.
  • Attending one to ones and provide clear feedback to allow personal development.
  • Ensuring all decontamination and booking in of customer and company equipment coming into the Workshop remaining fully compliant to processes and procedures. Providing accurate customer quotations.
  • To support the workflow to ensure the customer experience and TAT (Turnaround Time) is aligned to the teams’ goals.
  • Support accurate stock management by effectively recording parts, prices, and quantities on customer quotations.
  • Build effective relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Comply with company Health & Safety policies.
  • Support and provide feedback to drive continuous improvement of the workshop operation, remaining fully complaint - Identify opportunities to increase efficiency such as end to end review; optimise flows

Quality & Compliance

  • Adhere to organisation and department policies, quality procedures and protocols.
  • Comply with all quality and safety regulations as required by BD organisation, customers, and Distributor Agreements.
  • Participate and successfully complete all required BD continuing education programs consistent with the job and personal development objectives.

About you

The ideal candidate will have experience of a service or operations environment, preferably within the medical sector, with an eye for accuracy and detail.

The role will predominantly be based in the Worthing Depot. Travel to meetings, training, courses and conferences will be necessary. There may be times of supporting field activities to support business needs.
