The role

As a key member of the Hypermotive Operations team, the Purchasing Administrator will be responsible for the processing of purchasing requirements across both Engineering and Manufacturing, mainly focussed around wire harness and electrical / electronic product manufacturing. Working across the full end-to-end purchasing process, you will be the key point of contact for our suppliers on a day-to-day basis.

Within this role your responsibilities will include:

· Establishing project purchasing requirements from Engineering Bills of Materials and manufacturing drawings

· Sending out and processing RFQs to customers

· Supporting the commercial team with supplier quotations

· Generation and processing of purchase requisitions

· Technical parts sourcing

· Raising and processing purchase orders and reconciling with deliveries

· Liaising with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing

· Expediting orders to ensure on-time delivery

· Purchasing status reporting to key stakeholders

· New supplier set up & ongoing monitoring

· Booking in of Goods received

· Stock and inventory management

· Arranging shipping of goods (domestic and export) and associated paperwork

· Supporting the wider Operations team from time-to-time as required

As well as these day-to-day responsibilities, you will also contribute to the development and continuous improvement of our purchasing processes.

This role requires a professional, proactive, organised individual with strong interpersonal skills. You will need to be a great communicator with a flexible approach and should be able to multi-task across multiple projects and work well under pressure when required.

Within this role you will work closely with the other functions in the business, ensuring right first time, on-time delivery of parts within budget. You will support team, supplier and customer meetings as requires and seek to resolve any issues assigned to you within a timely manner.

Education:

· GCSE Maths & English as a minimum

Skills & Experience Required:

· 2+ years experience of technical purchasing within a relevant industry (such as electronics, electrical components, wire harnessing)

· 5+ years procurement experience

· Strong competence in the use of MS Excel and Sage 50 for Procurement

· Competent user of MS Word, MS Powerpoint and Outlook

· Clear, confident and professional written and telephone communications

Skills preferred:

· Working knowledge of CIM50

· Knowledge of export/import requirements
