Project Manager (SAP) Salary: Up to £58k/annumOur client is a world renowned manufacturer of next generation fibre and optic products which are utilised within semiconductor applications and medical diagnostic devices, they utilise highly sophisticated laser production techniques in order to meet growing demand from their global customer base. They are currently in a phase of rapid growth and expansion from both a people perspective and capital expenditure at their Hamble based facility. Their products are innovative and complex and their ethos is low volume and high quality.Our client is an integral part of a bigger group who are global leaders in providing next generation technology solutions to their customers.Main Responsibilities Our ideal candidate is a fast learner balancing between project leadership, business acumen and problem-solving skills. The candidate will require to be based on our offices located in Hamble, Southampton.

Business Project Managers Responsibilities:

  • Ensure project deliverable are on time, as per scope and within allocated budget.
  • Manage business, interdepartmental coordination to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Lead the fulfilment of business benefits through effective, ERP project delivery at the site.
  • Communication capabilities to all levels within the business during project execution.
  • Facilitate the tracking and resolution of business project related issues and any problems with the assigned team members.
  • Have business acumen to support the company strategic initiatives.
  • Be a leader and an influencer to promote organisational change management during the project.
  • Be a facilitator to help cross-functional teams solve problems.
  • Adopt a continuous improvement mindset.

Person Specification Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree (either business administration or manufacturing operational discipline or equivalent).
  • Good understanding in business processes, booking to billing within a manufacturing operation.
  • Experience in project management.
  • SAP experience essential.
  • Experience in implementing change (people, process, or technology) is an asset.
  • Experience across functions (e.g., finance, operations, quality, etc.) is an asset.
  • Experience in manufacturing industry is an asset.
  • Project management certification (e.g., PMP, Agile, PRINCE2) is an asset.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of Intellectual Property Processes
  • Experience in multinational company
  • Experience in previous role.
  • Detailed working knowledge of ISO9001:2015
  • Experience of commercial & technical negotiation
  • Experience with MS Project

Minimum Competencies

  • Advanced FM database training
  • Change control and development processes.
  • IP policy.
  • New part number generation.
  • Regulatory compliance, WEEE, RoHS, CE.
  • Computer literate (Excel - Advanced; Word - Intermediate; PowerPoint - Intermediate, MS Project - Intermediate).
  • Manufacturing techniques and philosophies.
  • Laser/fibre physics.
  • Working knowledge of all WIs & TPs required for building & testing fibre and laser products.
  • QPL QMS and ISO requirements.
  • Analytic and negotiation skills.
  • Commercial Awareness.

The Project Manager must be a result driven individual who can show flexibility in all aspects of their work. It is vital that they are an excellent communicator with all levels of personnel and be confident in influencing others in a positive manner.

In order to meet strict deadlines and budgetary requirements. They must be able to manage their own workload independently and also demonstrate willingness to adapt in order to meet changing business needs. They should be skilled in managing conflict and be prepared to challenge others. The role requires a leader who is adept at delegation and making key decisions in order to achieve results. The Project Manager should have excellent organisational awareness and be prepared to take risks to test the limits for good results. They should also be creative and innovative to enable the company to move forwards.
