Avantor Services provides a broad variety of on-site Laboratory Services for major pharmaceutical customers and works collaboratively with our clients to provide resource, and deliver core scientific activities.

We are looking for an Operations Administrator on a full-time, permanent basis.

The purpose of the role is to provide administrative support for the Ops Department. In particular, to liaise with transport companies and customs brokers, liaise with internal departments in all administrative matters, assist with complaint handling and system testing. This person will become an SAP Super User for the Ops department.

Major Job Duties And Responsibilities
  • Handling all administrative tasks for the Warehouse to include complaints resolution, reporting, and document handling, system testing
  • Coordinating shipments with the customer services team
  • Liaise with internal departments as well as transport companies and customs brokers
  • Liaising with Customer Services in all matters related to transport, deliveries and returns
  • SAP management (this person already is or will become SAP Super User)
  • assisting with various basic trainings within the warehouse and operations, to include on the job trainings (i.e. manual handling, site induction)
  • Work respectfully within a multicultural customer environment, being aware of differing business culture and acting accordingly
  • Respond efficiently to customer-related enquires by phone or email
  • Working with offshore team to co-ordinate admin and back-office process to ensure customers SLA’s are achieved
  • Building a good working relationship with your Operations Management Team including mutual understanding and trust
QUALIFICATIONS (Education/Training, Experience And Certifications)
  • A high standard of English and Maths
  • Ideally some experience in a similar administrative role
  • SAP superuser or good working knowledge of SAP would be an advantage
  • previous experience or good understanding of shipment and customs documents and requirements
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Competencies
  • Experience of export documentation and Incoterms
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills – Written and verbal
  • Ability to follow and always adhere to regulatory processes
  • High attention to detail
  • Proactive customer focussed approach
  • Ability to work independently
  • Able to multi-task whilst working under pressure
  • Knowledge of hazardous goods would be beneficial for this role
  • Awareness and acceptance of differing cultural approaches to business and communication
