Marketing Manager

Whistlefish is a thriving UK-based company that operates in the retail and wholesale markets. With 12 retail outlets across the Southwest of England and a successful e-commerce platform, we are known for our unique blend of greetings cards, framed art, gifts and home accessories.

We are looking for an experienced, commercially focused marketeer who will bring knowledge of the B2C retail industry and who can help drive e-Commerce and retail sales, as we continue through an exciting and busy growth period.

You will bring commercial retail experience to the Ecommerce and Marketing Department, having helped drive a similar-sized retail brand to the next level, by generating brand awareness and finding new customers, helping raise the profile of Whistlefish within the Greetings Card and gifting industry.

You will be able to bring tried and tested traditional marketing techniques, like direct mail and print based PR campaigns, pop-up events and other offline marketing approaches and be able to assess and analyse the budget requirements and ROI on such activities.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Own the direct mail and brand partnerships process within the Ecommerce and Marketing department and assess the commercial viability of such marketing activities via ROI
  • Seek out similar brands to form partnerships with, to help drive new customers to our brand through asset exchanges and competitions, and perform data analysis on the commercial success of these efforts.
  • Own the customer data capture process and implement these activities in stores
  • Manage our email marketing database, creating flows and funnels based on different customer journeys
  • Seek out new offline advertising opportunities and create cost analysis for the ROI of these activities
  • Conduct market research and analysis of our target audience by running surveys and feeding the conclusions back to the product development and buying functions within the business.
  • Briefing the in-house graphic designer on any promotional signage that needs creating for shops
  • Ability to cover social media responsibilities
  • Research and write blogs with evergreen content to drive organic search traffic
  • PR outreach activity, writing press releases and generating back links and creating a ‘buzz’ about the brand, by liaising with charities and finding other brand exposure opportunities

Essential skills:

  • Highly organised and able to manage multiple marketing initiatives concurrently
  • Excellent communication, a thoughtful approach to campaigns and an eye for detail
  • Analytical abilities in processing data and using this to refine future campaigns
  • Strong experience in email marketing flows (and experience of Klaviyo is a plus)
  • Ability to drive high volume commercial sales from new customers via direct mail, postcode drops, press releases, brand partnerships, competitions, and other offline marketing techniques

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Redruth, TR16 4AX: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
