The above full-time post is available on an initial contractual period until June 2023KMO-Fleet is an innovate mining technology company specialising in the optimisation of mobile mining fleets. The system has been developed to work independently of extensive WiFi networks and complicated infrastructure.KMO-Fleet are looking for an experienced Java developer to lead the development and testing of their fleet management and optimisation solution. KMO-Fleet are a new spin out company from the world-renowned Camborne School of Mines (CSM) and have a small multidisciplinary team of mining, electronic and software engineers. The advertised post will work with the technical team to develop a robust software system to drive value in the industry.Full training into the mining value chain will be given to the successful candidate and there is no requirement for previous experience in the sector. Job DescriptionThe applicant will work as a lead software engineer in a small, dynamic, friendly technical team based in Redruth, Cornwall. You will be expected to work within the legal constraints of any agreed non-disclosure agreement (NDA’s) and Intellectual property (IP) protection agreed between collaborating businesses.The successful applicant will have:Essential requirements are an expert knowledge of JSE v17 and JEE v8, Junit 4.0, Rest API development and MySQL (JDBC).Experience of the following is also desirable Eclipse IDE, GIT, Apache Tomcat (JSP/Servlets), CI systems, Android, HTML5/CSS and Docker/VMware.Experience of ML techniques in Python i.e. SOM, RNN and CNN is a definite advantage.In addition, you will be an active practitioner of TDD with exposure to RUP/UML be self-motivated and target focussed.You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining design documentation and take a proactive role in the design of the software platform.
