This apprenticeship is to provide training, practical experience, which when completed would enable the post holder to perform the duties associated with Building Services Maintenance Engineer.

Building Services Engineering allows buildings and the building occupiers to work safely and efficiently.

Service and Maintenance Engineers play a key role in planning and completing a range of maintenance for hospitals and commercial building services engineering systems such as ventilating, heating, water supply, waste (effluent discharge) and drainage. This includes related electrical isolation, disconnection, reconnection and reactivation

Undertake duties and tasks as appropriate, which will include but not be limited to:

Assist and gain knowledge of building engineering services working under the direct supervision of trust Managers, Team Leaders Maintenance Craftsperson’s and Assistants

This job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of duties to be undertaken by the post holder and will be reviewed and developed to reflect the changing needs of the service and the Trust.

Building Services Engineers also complete planned preventative maintenance and undertake any required remedial repairs. In addition, they monitor and manage the operation of plant and equipment through building and energy management systems.
