As our FP&A Analyst, you will be responsible for the provision of financial support to Head of Group FP&A to support planning, reporting and decision support activities across the Group FP&A function. You will work closely with the FP&A Managers within the Group FP&A function to provide analysis and presentation support within the Reporting and Controlling teams.

Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Provide financial analysis and insight to support stakeholder strategic decision making at the request of the AMB or Shareholder. The ability to react to the impromptu demands of the Shareholder or AMB, and ability to prioritise these requests to respond in a timely and concise manner, is a requirement of this role

• Provide financial analysis and insight to competitor and peer group financials. Comparison of Arriva’s Interim and Full Year results to peer group, reporting to AMB and Shareholder

• Building strong relationships and close collaboration with stakeholders for delivery of Shareholder, AMB and Arriva Leadership team briefing materials/slides including clear and concise insight identifying key messages appropriate to the audience

• Proficient use of planning system (TM1) in order to business partner the divisional management team/local businesses

• Provide ad hoc financial support and analysis including support to the Shareholder, CFO, Deputy CFO, Group Reporting Manager, AMB and divisional/local finance teams

You will be accountable for KPI reporting defined as:

o Quarterly Group Order book

o Monthly patronage

o Monthly operated mileage

o Monthly kms

o Customer satisfaction date

o Rail punctuality

o Rolling stock information

o Number of employees

o Group KPI dashboard

About you

Ideally, you will have knowledge of IFRS & statutory reporting processes, and advanced excel and powerpoint proficiency. You are experienced in building and developing complex financial models and able to work with and manipulate large volumes of data in a time pressured environment. You have the ability to translate lots of detailed financial and operational information into concise value-added slide outputs.

Outside of the technical skills and experience, you have excellent people skills and can build relationships with various stakeholders, internal and external.

You have a strong customer focus, with an ability to prioritise and identify key issues to stakeholders. Ability to respond to ad-hoc requests and reprioritise workload will be required.
