Westray Recruitment Group is seeking to recruit Forklift Truck Drivers, for a global logistics business based in Birtley.

The business is in growth and able to provide long term permanent opportunities for people with a strong work ethic and a mature approach to their work.

It’s a typical warehouse environment, relatively small in size and with a good bunch of people to work alongside.

Ideally you will have at least 6 months forklift experience and hold either a Reach or Counterbalance license.

However, if you tick the boxes in terms of work ethic and attitude, refresher training will be given.

Roles are temporary to begin with, but with definite long term opportunities, once you’ve demonstrated your ability.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING IN YOUR ROLE?

  • Based in the warehouse, working as part of medium size team
  • Moving products around the warehouse, both manually and with Forklift Truck
  • Using hand held scanners to scan products
  • Role isn’t all forklift work, it does entails some manual tasks

WHAT EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS ARE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION?

  • Either a Reach or Counterbalance Forklift license
  • Ideally 6 months Forklift experience, although refresher training may be given
  • Experience of working in a warehousing environment

HOURS OF WORK

  • This is a temporary to permanent role, working a two week rotating shift pattern.
  • Week one is 6.00am to 2.30pm Monday to Friday
  • Week two is 1.30pm to 10.45pm Monday to Thursday and 1.30pm to 6.30pm on a Friday
  • The site is on a great bus route, so there would be no issues if on public transport

RATE OF PAY

This role pays £10.50 per hour for dayshift and £11.05 per hour for the backshift, with overtime available
