Location: Medway City Estate, Rochester Salary: Depending on Experience Hours: 40 hours a week - Occasional weekend working to suit the needs of the business. JOB PURPOSE To ensure all plant, including but not limited to, forklifts, cranes, bobcat and mafi’s are serviced, maintained and repaired through reactive and planned maintenance. Responsibilities To operate and inspect all plant and machinery, to diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs, using diagnostic equipment such as computerised test equipment and calibration devices. To clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment and plant. Overhaul and test machines or equipment to ensure operating efficiency. Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools. Repair and replace damaged or worn parts. Weld or solder broken parts and structural members, using electric or gas welders and soldering tools. Adjust, maintain, and repair or replace sub-assemblies, such as transmissions and engines as and when required. To undertake scheduled maintenance for all plant and equipment - ensuring all service records are completed correctly. To undertake full servicing of all plant including oils To safely undertake plant wheel removal and refit using the wheel lift. To carry out any mast removals and complete refits. To oversee and carry out any balance weight removals and ensure they are refitted to a high standard. To fully inspect and maintain all aspects of a hydraulics and control system. Lead any mast re-builds and chains. To understand and maintain all plant fuel systems. To work with Internal Combustion systems To ensure all safety inspections (Chains, forks, tyres) are carried out in a timely manner and to a high standard. To guide and assist the trainee engineer, with their day-to-day activities. To undertake any other duties assigned by your line manager.
