Day Shift

Monday – Thursday 07:55 – 16:35

Friday – 07:55 – 13:35

Candidates must be flexible to support overtime.

As part of the IT Team this position is responsible for the provision of essential IT operational support to the business, while working closely with departments ranging from Warehouse Operations, IT Hardware, IT Development and customer teams.

Main Tasks

· Develop skills while working with the IT Controller to enable troubleshooting of the Vantec Warehouse Management application, VIMS, and provide viable workarounds for issues while root cause and permanent fixes are developed, tested and implemented.

· Support the Hardware and Network team with troubleshooting and root cause analysis.

· Have the ability to resolve PC, Printer and handheld scanner issues on site.

· Support the IT Programmers with User testing and root cause analysis.

· Proactively review and identify opportunities for improvements across all existing systems and operational practices in pursuit of standards of excellence.

· Acting as the first port of call for the onsite operational team, this role will require you to assess and resolve issues and/or direct the issues to the correct department in a timely manner. Excellent communication skills are required to ensure the operational team are kept updated and issues are passed on effectively with follow up communications to be continuous.

· Develop effective working relationships with key internal stakeholders at levels in the business to ensure constructive communication is maintained at all times. Work closely with the onsite IT Controller harnessing new skills and understanding as he mentors you to expand and grow within your role.

· Take care of your own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by your actions at work..

· Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in accordance with the company rules.

· To support GK, 5S and other improvement activities.

· Any other duties as covered by your contract of employment.

Skills and Qualifications required

· Ability to multitask / react to changing priorities based on business needs.

· Good organisational, presentational, planning and administration skills.

· Excellent customer service skills.

· Good numeracy and literacy skills.

· Work unsupervised and as part of a team.

· Confident user of Microsoft excel

· Thrives on trouble shooting and identifying root cause

· Experience working in a warehousing environment (operational) is an advantage.

· 5 GCSEs at C and above / equivalent work experience to demonstrate ability.
